In every generation, there are things
peculiar to it. In Christian history, business, education and every other field
of human life, young men and women have played a very crucial role in shaping
their generations.
Currently, I believe we are living in a new
generation where the youth should take their rightful places in society to be
able to “take over” from an older generation when they finish their assignment.
Born in 1978, I count myself amongst this youthful generation and I am
convinced it is our time to become all what God has created us to be. Any
waiting and delay might cost us our future and destiny. The title The Emergence
of a New Generation is a strong conviction in my spirit that God is positioning
the youth of today for exploits ― exploits in every sphere of society.
In my
own small way, I have tried to communicate The Emergence of a New Generation
with friends and a number of youth groups to sensitise them. This my “small
way” has included social media: facebook, twitter and blogs. However, recently, I got another strong
conviction to share this message with a wider audience especially my
contemporaries so we will position ourselves and take on the baton.
For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption (Acts 13:36).
Note the phrase his own generation in the
scripture above. This simply means every generation is served by someone from
that generation. I hope by this book every youth will understand there is a
baton to be handed over and we will be the recipients of that baton. Hence this
calls for us to prepare ourselves for “the handing over”. Others have paved
the way and we will blaze their trail.
